All Prospectors come with an ebonite nib unit, even if you choose not to purchase a nib with the pen.  These nib units allow the nib to be aligned with one of the points on the barrel.

If you purchase your Prospector without a nib, you may need to heat set the feed against your nib for proper writing and flow.  A hair dryer or heat gun carefully pointed at just the feed will work.
